8.6 and AR upgrades, no Frequency
Today I did volunteer work at my wife's school. I upgraded 2 6100's to 24M RAM, MacOS 8.6, and AR 6.1.3, and upgraded 5 7200's that already had RAM and System to run AR as well. The classroom where we were storing the extra Macs was assigned to a new teacher, so we moved about 25 computers to a portable classroom.
I looked at a problem with a tray-load iMac used by 1 teacher. It powers on and bongs, then a few seconds later shuts itself off. Re-seated everything and checked the battery, but could not fix it. Got her a 5400/200 as a temporary replacement.
I used the Frequency Blogger program twice, under MacOS 9.1. The editing pane is done in Chicago 12 which is not appropriate. But the worst problem is that both times after using it and quitting, my browser (iCab) crashed. The Mac and browser are otherwise pretty stable, so I think Frequency is screwing up when it quits. Back to online blogging for now.
